Recently moved to NC and decided on this little gem as our first "local history" trip. The inside of the museum is beautiful, well-lit and open. Prepare to do lots of reading about the history of Hezekiah Alexander and Charlotte. There are some beautiful paintings in the "Charlotte's Road to Revolution" exhibit by local artist Dan Nance and a nice little photography exhibit by photographer Daniel Coston. The real gem, however, is the guided tour of the history of the Hezekiah Alexander house and property. Our guide was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. The grounds were beautiful and the tour was very informational. I highly recommend a visit!

Wonderful facility, tour and guides were excellent. There was a tactical activity for the kids at each stop on the tour. This interaction made it all the more enjoyable!

It was so fun! The guide was awesome, the springhouse was refreshing to go inside of on a hot day, overall it was so tasteful and amazingly awesome!

Very neat museum showing historical, ecological, economical, geographical perspectives. The original Hezekiah Alexander homestead is also on the property. Admission is typically $10/person. However, several nights throughout the year offer free events/admission. It's worth the trip. Good for adults and kids, alike.

The museum itself was a bit underwhelming - lots of unused space. But the guided tour of the house and grounds was awesome! Our guide was great and dressed in period clothing. Very enthusiastic and lots of fun!
